Narrow pyramidal in habit; pendulous (drooping/arching) branches; very adaptable
From the Experts
Serbian spruce is a stately evergreen tree known for excellent medium green foliage and narrow pyramidal growth, maturing to 60 feet high or more and 20 feet wide at maturity. Typically growth rate is about 1 foot per year. Serbian spruce is adaptable to acidic and alkaline soils, reliably cold hardy and tolerates heat well. Prefers a drier climate with some protection from winds, especially in winter. It performs best in full sun, but tolerates some shade. While not prone to issues, cytospora canker, needle cast, or sudden needle drop may occur, especially in stressed trees.
